Themes and Activities

We have divided our work into themes and activities.

Themes

By themes we mean sets of interrelated exercises that help to explore an aspect of life or an aspect of the being. The themes are:

Attention and Concentration

con-(2)

In the photo we see a concentration exercise. While music is playing in the background, the students keep their attention focused on the subtle sensations they are feeling around their hands, as they consciously and slowly move them from resting on their knees to meet each other.

Breathing

Different objects placed on top of the body become what we call “breathometers”. They reflect the breath in its different phases and help the student to become more aware of it.

Relaxation

Different ways of surrendering the body and letting go of all tension

Sensory Awareness

“Listening” to Life in a tree helps the student to refine her senses and internalise them

Exploration of the Subtle Physical Body

Discovering, becoming aware of and training to listen to the subtle sensations felt in the cocoon of energy that permeates and surrounds the body. The students point to the direction where they sense the “touch” of another subtle physical body

The Five Elements

Going behind the forms and exploring the Elements one becomes aware of the building blocks of manifestation

Physical Structure

Exploring sitting awareness. The student constructs the stool that fits his structure and allows him to have a solid base and align the spine

Evolution

The students explore evolution, not only the evolution of the species and development of movement, but also the evolution of consciousness

Exploring and sensing in one’s own body the elastic movement of a single cell

Exploring and sensing the movement of a multi-cellular being and  one’s own body as a single cell in it

Activities

By activities we mean sets of interrelated exercises that open fields of exploration to several aspects of life, or several aspects of the being simultaneously.

The activities are:

Structure Settings

This activity develops freedom of movement, awareness of the present moment, awareness of touch between persons when crossing each other on the setting

Form and Space

sensory-elements-(87)

In the exploration of the Form of the Elements the students contact the Element within themselves, sensing Its shape and movement. After that they allow their perception to express outwardly, giving the Element a shape with their physical body

Games

Collective games help the students to become aware of the dynamics within a group and helps them discover how to use themselves in the most effective way so the group functions succesfully and harmoniously
